Description
A quick and flavorful baked chicken dinner made with just four simple ingredients. Brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic create a glossy sweet-and-savory glaze that coats the chicken beautifully.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 680 g / 1½ lb)
- 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Arrange the chicken breasts evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, soy sauce, and minced garlic until the sugar begins to dissolve.
- Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, coating each piece well.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Spoon some of the pan sauce over the chicken before serving for extra flavor and moisture.
Notes
- Boneless chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breasts for a juicier result.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
- Try adding broccoli, bell peppers, or green beans to the baking dish for an easy one-pan meal.
- A teaspoon of grated ginger adds extra depth and aroma.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freeze cooled chicken and sauce for up to 2 months, then thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
- Reheat in the microwave for 1–2 minutes or in a skillet with a splash of water to loosen the sauce.
