Description
Air Fried Apple Wedges with Caramel Whipped Cream Dipping Sauce are a quick and comforting dessert featuring tender, cinnamon-sugar apples with a crisp exterior served alongside a luscious caramel whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 2 large apples (like Honeycrisp or Fuji), sliced into wedges
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- Cooking spray or 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the apples into even wedges and toss them with brown sugar and cinnamon until well coated.
- Lightly spray the apple wedges with cooking spray or brush with melted butter. Arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and tender.
- Meanwhile, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold in the caramel sauce and vanilla extract to create the caramel whipped cream.
- Let the apple wedges cool slightly, then serve warm with the caramel whipped cream for dipping.
Notes
- Use sweet-tart apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji for best texture and flavor.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg or apple pie spice for extra depth.
- For a healthier version, omit the brown sugar and use just cinnamon.
- Leftover apple wedges can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the air fryer.
- Caramel whipped cream is best fresh but can be refrigerated and re-whisked before serving.
