Ingredients
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 450 g)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 190°C (375°F) for 3–5 minutes.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels so the seasoning adheres well.
- In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil and coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
- Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Cook for 10 minutes, then carefully flip the chicken.
- Continue cooking for another 7–10 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
- Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing to retain juices.
Notes
- Letting the chicken rest after cooking helps keep it juicy and tender.
- You can add smoked paprika and a pinch of cumin for a smoky flavor variation.
- Add lemon zest and dried thyme for a lemon herb version.
- For a spicy version, add chili powder or cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
- Brush with barbecue sauce during the last few minutes for a sweet and tangy twist.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Freeze tightly wrapped chicken for up to 2 months.
- Reheat in the air fryer at 175°C (350°F) for 3–5 minutes for best texture.
