Description

Juicy and flavorful air fryer grilled chicken made with simple pantry spices. The air fryer creates a beautifully browned exterior while keeping the inside tender and moist, making it perfect for quick weeknight meals, meal prep, salads, and sandwiches.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 450 g)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 190°C (375°F) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels so the seasoning adheres well.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil and coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
  5. Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
  6. Cook for 10 minutes, then carefully flip the chicken.
  7. Continue cooking for another 7–10 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
  8. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing to retain juices.

Notes

  • Letting the chicken rest after cooking helps keep it juicy and tender.
  • You can add smoked paprika and a pinch of cumin for a smoky flavor variation.
  • Add lemon zest and dried thyme for a lemon herb version.
  • For a spicy version, add chili powder or cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
  • Brush with barbecue sauce during the last few minutes for a sweet and tangy twist.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze tightly wrapped chicken for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 175°C (350°F) for 3–5 minutes for best texture.
