Description

Crispy and cheesy air fryer jalapeno poppers filled with a creamy blend of cheeses, topped with crunchy breadcrumbs, and cooked until golden for a quick and flavorful appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 6 fresh jalapeno peppers, halved lengthwise and seeds removed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil spray or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes to reduce heat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Mix until the filling becomes smooth and evenly combined.
  5. Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeno half, filling them generously but keeping the filling level with the top.
  6. Lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray and sprinkle the panko breadcrumbs over the filling.
  7. Place the stuffed jalapenos in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  8. Air fry for 8–10 minutes until the jalapenos are tender and the tops are golden and crispy.
  9. Let the poppers cool for a few minutes before serving because the filling will be very hot.

Notes

  • Remove the seeds and membranes to make the poppers less spicy.
  • Pepper jack cheese can be used for a spicier filling.
  • For extra crunch, coat the filling completely with breadcrumbs before air frying.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes to keep them crispy.
  • Stuffed uncooked poppers can be frozen for up to 2 months and cooked directly from frozen.
