Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup apple cider
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, thyme, and cinnamon.
- Add chicken to the skillet and cook 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant and softened.
- Pour in apple cider, chicken broth, and apple cider vinegar; stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook 5–8 minutes until slightly reduced.
- Stir in honey if using, then return chicken to the pan and spoon sauce over the top.
- Simmer 2–3 minutes to warm through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
- For extra fall flavor, add sliced apples to the sauce.
- Use bone‑in chicken; adjust cooking time as needed.
