Description
A creamy, tangy, and refreshing Brazilian Lemonade made with fresh limes, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar, blended to frothy perfection and served over ice.
Ingredients
- 4 fresh limes, washed thoroughly and cut into wedges
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups ice cubes
Instructions
- Wash the limes thoroughly since the peel will be used. Cut each lime into wedges and remove any visible seeds.
- Place the lime wedges and 2 cups of cold water into a blender. Pulse gently 4 to 5 times, being careful not to over-blend to avoid bitterness.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing lightly to extract the liquid. Discard the solids.
- Return the strained liquid to the blender. Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water, sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and ice cubes.
- Blend until smooth and frothy.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Serve immediately over extra ice.
Notes
- Avoid over-blending the limes to prevent bitterness from the peel and pith.
- Best served immediately for optimal flavor and freshness.
- For a lighter version, reduce sweetened condensed milk and add a splash of coconut milk.
- Honey can be used instead of granulated sugar.
- Add fresh mint leaves for a refreshing twist.
- For a sparkling version, substitute part of the water with chilled sparkling water and stir in at the end.
- Store in a sealed pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and stir before serving.
