Ingredients
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups (300g) light brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups (312g) all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter and brown sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Drop rounded balls of dough using a tablespoon or cookie scoop onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are golden.
- Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
