Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic; cook until softened.
- Stir in uncooked rice, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper together.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and smooth the surface.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil, sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top, and bake uncovered for another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for beef.
