Description

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, sliced thin
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or sesame oil
  • 8 oz noodles (lo mein, udon, or spaghetti)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 cup stir-fry vegetables (like bell peppers, broccoli, carrots – optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and water to make the teriyaki sauce.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through.
  3. Pour in the teriyaki sauce and let it simmer until it thickens and coats the chicken.
  4. Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain well.
  5. Add cooked noodles to the skillet with chicken and toss to combine and coat evenly with sauce.
  6. Top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Add optional stir-fried vegetables if desired.
