- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or butter for greasing the waffle iron
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and melted butter.
- Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until the batter becomes smooth.
- Preheat the waffle iron and lightly grease it with vegetable oil or butter.
- Pour batter into the waffle iron and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp.
- Remove the waffles and cut them into small squares suitable for sliders.
- Ensure the chicken tenders are hot and crispy; warm them in the oven if necessary.
- To assemble, place one waffle square on the bottom, add a piece of crispy chicken, and drizzle with maple syrup.
- Top with another waffle square and secure with a toothpick if needed.
- Repeat until all sliders are assembled and serve warm.
Notes
- Spread honey butter on the waffles before assembling for added sweetness.
- Mix hot sauce with maple syrup or sprinkle cayenne pepper for a spicy variation.
- Try flavored waffles such as cheddar or cornmeal waffles for a different twist.
- Store chicken and waffles separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat chicken in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 10 minutes and warm waffles in a toaster or oven before assembling.
