Description

Chili Garlic Crisp is a spicy, crunchy, and flavorful condiment made with crispy garlic, chili flakes, and umami-rich seasonings. It’s perfect for elevating stir-fries, noodles, rice dishes, and grilled meats.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup dried chili flakes
  • 1/4 cup minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the oil and cook until the garlic turns golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Carefully add the dried chili flakes to the oil and stir well. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, and salt. Mix until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Allow the chili garlic crisp to cool before transferring it to a jar or container. Stir before use as the oil will separate.

Notes

  • Adjust chili flakes for preferred heat level.
  • Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks.
  • Use a clean spoon to extend shelf life.
  • Customize by adding onions or herbs for extra flavor.
