Description

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch round cake pan or springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and glossy.
  4. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, stirring until fully combined.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a thick cookie dough forms.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the edges are golden and the center looks set but still soft.
  9. Allow the cookie cake to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
