Ingredients
- 4 cups cornbread, crumbled (preferably day-old)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped

- 2 cups chicken or turkey broth
- 2 large eggs
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon fresh or dried sage
- 1 teaspoon fresh or dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onions and celery until tender.
- In a large bowl, combine crumbled cornbread, sautéed vegetables, herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Beat the eggs and mix them into the cornbread mixture.
- Gradually pour in the broth, stirring until the mixture is moist but not soupy.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden and slightly crisp.
Notes
- Use day-old cornbread for better texture.
