Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 (15 oz) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 (15 oz) cans diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer beef mixture to a crockpot.
- Add kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and beef broth.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Stir before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, or green onions.
Notes
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a leaner version.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
- For extra heat, add chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
