- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until a smooth batter forms.

- Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the batter without stirring.
- Carefully pour the hot water over the entire mixture. Do not stir.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the top is set but still soft.

Notes
- Add a handful of chocolate chips to the batter for extra richness.
- Replace part of the hot water with strong brewed coffee for deeper flavor.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon or espresso powder to enhance the chocolate taste.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the microwave in short intervals until warm.
- Add a splash of milk before reheating to keep the sauce smooth.
- Best served warm, fresh from the oven.
