Description

This cozy, indulgent hot chocolate is made with a blend of dark and white chocolate, whole milk, and topped with maple-infused whipped cream. A rich, creamy, alcohol-free treat that’s perfect for chilly nights.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon cornstarch
  • ⅓ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup white chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon confectioners’ sugar
  • ½ teaspoon maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Whisk the milk and cornstarch together in a medium saucepan until smooth.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until it just starts to boil.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the dark and white chocolate chips until fully melted and smooth.
  4. In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with confectioners’ sugar and maple syrup until stiff peaks form.
  5. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with a generous spoonful of maple whipped cream or marshmallows.

Notes

  • Use oat milk and coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
  • Add cinnamon or vanilla extract for a festive twist.
  • Use more dark chocolate and skip the white for a deeper cocoa flavor.
  • Top with caramel or chocolate syrup for extra sweetness.
