Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade taco seasoning)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
- 8 small tortillas (corn or flour)
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded lettuce
- 1 cup (150 g) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup (120 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
- 1/4 cup (15 g) chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet.
- Add taco seasoning and water, then stir to combine.
- Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened and flavorful.
- Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft.
- Spoon beef mixture into tortillas.
- Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro.
- Serve immediately.
