Description

This easy Chocolate Caramel Crack is a quick and irresistible sweet snack made with saltine crackers, buttery caramel, and melted chocolate. Perfect for holidays or everyday indulgence, it’s a crisp, chewy, and melty treat ready in under 40 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve of saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Lightly grease it.
  2. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer to cover the pan.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it begins to boil. Let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  4. Pour the hot caramel mixture evenly over the crackers.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes, until the caramel is bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the caramel. Let them sit for 2–3 minutes to melt.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt, if using.
  8. Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate or freeze until fully set. Break into pieces before serving.
