Description

A quick and flavorful honey garlic chicken breast recipe with a rich sweet and savory glaze, perfect for an easy homemade meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 400 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then lightly coat them with flour.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, melt the butter and add minced garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar, stirring to combine.
  5. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes. If desired, mix cornstarch with water and stir it in to thicken the sauce.
  6. Return the chicken to the pan and spoon the sauce over it. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until well coated and heated through.

Notes

  • Add chili flakes for a spicy variation.
  • You can include vegetables like broccoli or green beans for a complete meal.
  • Chicken thighs can be used instead of breasts for a juicier result.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently on the stovetop with a splash of water to maintain moisture.
