Description

A festive and easy St. Patrick’s Day brownie trifle layered with fudgy brownie cubes, creamy green vanilla pudding, fluffy whipped topping, and colorful sprinkles. This make-ahead dessert is simple to assemble and perfect for parties and celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (18.3 ounces) brownie mix
  • Ingredients listed on brownie box (typically 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 2 large eggs, 3 tablespoons water)
  • 2 boxes (3.4 ounces each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 cups cold milk
  • 1 teaspoon green food coloring
  • 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/2 cup green sprinkles or St. Patrick’s Day themed sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brownie mix according to the package directions using the listed ingredients. Bake in a 9×13-inch pan and allow to cool completely.
  2. Once cooled, cut the brownies into small bite-sized cubes.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thick and smooth.
  4. Add green food coloring a few drops at a time, stirring until the desired shade of green is reached.
  5. To assemble, place a layer of brownie cubes in the bottom of a trifle dish or large glass bowl.
  6. Spread a layer of green pudding over the brownies, then add a layer of whipped topping.
  7. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped topping on top.
  8. Sprinkle green sprinkles and mini chocolate chips over the top.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours before serving to allow the layers to set.

Notes

  • Can be made the night before and stored covered in the refrigerator.
  • Substitute chocolate pudding for a richer flavor variation.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract for a minty twist.
  • Use crushed chocolate sandwich cookies between layers for extra texture.
  • For a lighter option, use sugar-free pudding and light whipped topping.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Not recommended for freezing as pudding and whipped topping may separate.
