Ingredients
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup raisins
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, combine milk and raisins; let them soak.
- Line and spray a 9×13‑inch pan with parchment and nonstick spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and cloves; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat until combined.
- Slowly add dry ingredients to the butter‑sugar mixture; mix just until combined.
- Add applesauce; stir on low until just combined.
- Add raisins with milk mixture and walnuts; fold in until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, until a cake tester comes out clean.
- Allow cake to cool completely.
- Make the frosting: beat together cream cheese and softened butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar; beat on low until mostly combined.
- Add heavy cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt; mix on medium until smooth and creamy.
- Frost the cooled cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting using a spatula.
Notes
- You can bake this recipe in a bundt pan, loaf pan, or as muffins.
- If you want to skip frosting, simply dust the cake with powdered sugar.
- For smooth frosting, ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature to avoid lumps.
