Ingredients
- 1 lb white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, or mahi-mahi)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Juice of 1 lime
- 2 cups shredded green cabbage
- 1 cup shredded purple cabbage
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- Juice of 1 lime (for slaw)
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (for slaw)
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/4 cup crumbled queso fresco or feta cheese
- Extra lime wedges
Instructions
- Pat the fish fillets dry and rub with olive oil.
- Season evenly with chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the fish.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the fish for 3–4 minutes per side until it flakes easily.
- Remove from heat and break into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine green cabbage, purple cabbage, and chopped cilantro.
- In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, honey, and salt.
- Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and toss until well coated.
- Warm tortillas in a dry pan or microwave until soft.
- Assemble tacos by adding fish to each tortilla, topping with slaw, avocado slices, and cheese.
- Finish with an extra squeeze of lime and serve immediately.
