Description

Tender roast beef and melty provolone cheese on sweet slider buns, topped with French onion soup jus — a quick 20‑minute take on French dip sliders.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 10.5 ounces French onion soup
  • 2/3 cup water (½ soup can of water)
  • 9 King’s Hawaiian slider buns
  • 9 slices Provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
  • chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, heat the French onion soup and water over medium heat until warmed through.
  3. Add the roast beef to the pan with the French onion soup and heat until warmed.
  4. Place the bottom half of the slider buns on a rack set inside a baking pan. Top the buns with the slices of Provolone cheese.
  5. Arrange the heated roast beef slices on top of the cheese, distributing them evenly across the buns.
  6. Using a slotted spoon, remove the onions from the soup and spread them over the roast beef.
  7. Place the bun tops on the sliders.
  8. In a microwave‑safe dish, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the kosher salt and garlic powder until well combined.
  9. Use a basting brush to brush the melted butter sauce evenly over the bun tops.
  10. Bake the assembled sliders in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are lightly toasted.
  11. Remove the sliders from the oven using oven mitts.
  12. Serve the French Dip Sliders warm with the au jus (leftover soup) and enjoy!

Notes

  • Look for thinly sliced, rare roast beef at your local deli or ask your butcher to slice it for you for tender and juicy sliders.
  • Use a high‑quality French Onion Soup for better flavor.
  • King’s Hawaiian Slider Buns are great for their soft and slightly sweet texture, but you can use small dinner rolls or slider buns you prefer.
  • Provolone cheese works well, but you can try Swiss or Gruyère for variation.
  • Ensure butter, salt, and garlic powder are well mixed to evenly distribute flavor.
  • Watch closely while baking to avoid over‑toasting; you want buns lightly toasted and cheese melted.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge up to 2‑3 days. To reheat, wrap in foil and heat in a 350°F oven for about 10 minutes.
