Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet (1 ounce) dry onion soup mix
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed French onion soup
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup uncooked long grain white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for browning the beef)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Add olive oil if using lean beef. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in dry onion soup mix and Worcestershire sauce until beef is evenly coated.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, uncooked rice, and black pepper.
- Fold in the seasoned beef mixture.
- Pour mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 50 minutes.
- Remove foil, sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top, and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
