Description

A cozy and creamy casserole that combines the rich flavors of French onion soup with tender chicken, egg noodles, and a crispy onion topping. Perfect for weeknight dinners and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 3 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix or 1 can French onion soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheese (Swiss, mozzarella, or cheddar)
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions (for topping)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions until slightly undercooked. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, French onion soup, sour cream, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Add cooked chicken and noodles to the bowl, stirring to coat everything evenly.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
  7. Top with crispy fried onions just before serving for added crunch.

  • Use rotisserie chicken for convenience and added flavor.
  • Under-cook noodles slightly to prevent them from becoming mushy during baking.
