Description

Crispy fried chicken breasts with a golden seasoned coating and juicy, tender meat inside. This easy comfort-food recipe uses simple pantry staples and is perfect for family dinners, sandwiches, or meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 450 g), sliced in half lengthwise to make 4 thinner pieces
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
  • 1 cup (240 ml) vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and gently pound them until they are an even thickness.
  2. In one bowl, mix the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  4. Dip each chicken piece into the flour mixture first, then into the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour mixture for a second coating.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot.
  6. Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the skillet.
  7. Fry for 5 to 7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Transfer the fried chicken to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, let the coated chicken rest for 5 minutes before frying.
  • Chicken is fully cooked when the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
  • For a spicy version, add cayenne pepper to the flour mixture.
  • You can add grated Parmesan cheese or dried herbs like thyme or oregano to the coating for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in an oven or air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for 8 to 10 minutes to help restore crispiness.
