Description

Tender, juicy beef bites seared in garlic butter and served alongside creamy, buttery mashed potatoes for a comforting, flavor-packed meal.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (for potatoes)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste (for potatoes)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add potatoes. Cook until tender, about 15 minutes.
  2. While potatoes cook, pat beef cubes dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and 2 tbsp butter.
  4. Add beef cubes in a single layer, searing for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. Remove to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  5. Reduce heat to medium, add remaining 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Return beef to skillet and toss in garlic butter for 1 minute. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  7. Drain cooked potatoes and return to pot. Add milk, cream, and butter. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season to taste.
  8. Serve beef bites over or alongside mashed potatoes, drizzling extra garlic butter from the pan on top.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the garlic butter.
  • Use Yukon Gold potatoes for a richer, creamier mash.
  • Do not overcrowd the beef in the skillet to ensure a good sear.
