Description

Soft and fluffy garlic naan bread made easily in the air fryer with a golden, slightly crisp exterior and tender interior, brushed with rich garlic butter and fresh parsley.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water (about 110°F / 45°C)
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yogurt, olive oil, and activated yeast mixture.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and soft. Add a little flour if too sticky.
  4. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Divide dough into 6 equal portions and roll each into an oval or round shape about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  7. Place one naan in the air fryer basket and cook for 4–5 minutes until puffed and golden brown. Repeat with remaining dough.
  8. Mix melted butter with minced garlic and brush over warm naan. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Add chili flakes to the garlic butter for a spicy version.
  • For cheesy naan, add shredded mozzarella or cheddar inside before rolling.
  • Substitute half the flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat in air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes.
