Description
Soft and fluffy garlic naan bread made easily in the air fryer with a golden, slightly crisp exterior and tender interior, brushed with rich garlic butter and fresh parsley.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup warm water (about 110°F / 45°C)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yogurt, olive oil, and activated yeast mixture.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and soft. Add a little flour if too sticky.
- Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into 6 equal portions and roll each into an oval or round shape about 1/4 inch thick.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Place one naan in the air fryer basket and cook for 4–5 minutes until puffed and golden brown. Repeat with remaining dough.
- Mix melted butter with minced garlic and brush over warm naan. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Add chili flakes to the garlic butter for a spicy version.
- For cheesy naan, add shredded mozzarella or cheddar inside before rolling.
- Substitute half the flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
- Store at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
- Reheat in air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes.
