Description
This homemade cough syrup with lemon, pineapple, and ginger is a natural remedy that soothes sore throats and calms coughs. It’s made with immune-boosting ingredients like bromelain-rich pineapple, vitamin C-packed lemon, and anti-inflammatory ginger.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh pineapple juice (or blended fresh pineapple)
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1–2 tablespoons raw honey (optional)
- 2–4 tablespoons water (if needed for consistency)
Instructions
- Grate the fresh ginger and set it aside.
- In a small saucepan, combine the pineapple juice, lemon juice, and ginger.
- Bring the mixture to a light simmer over medium heat for 5–10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- If using honey, stir it in once the mixture has cooled slightly.
- Let the mixture cool completely, then strain into a clean glass jar or bottle.
- Store in the refrigerator and shake well before each use.
