Description
A quick and flavorful Italian BBQ Chicken made with just three ingredients—perfect for busy weeknights. Tender chicken breasts baked or slow-cooked in a savory blend of Italian dressing and barbecue sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 to 2 pounds)
- 1 cup Italian dressing
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Italian dressing and barbecue sauce until well blended.
- Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the sauce mixture evenly over the top.
- Bake the chicken uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- For a thicker sauce, spoon some of the juices over the chicken halfway through baking.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.
- Slow Cooker Option: Add all ingredients to a slow cooker and cook on low for 4–6 hours or high for 2–3 hours until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
Notes
- Add crushed red pepper flakes or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- Sprinkle mozzarella or parmesan cheese on top in the last 5 minutes of baking.
- Use boneless thighs instead of breasts for a juicier texture.
- Grill the chicken after marinating for smoky flavor.
- Add 1–2 tablespoons of honey for a sweeter, caramelized sauce.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
