Description
Comforting and portion-friendly lasagna roll ups made with tender noodles filled with a creamy cheese mixture, baked in marinara sauce and topped with melted mozzarella.
Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and lay flat to prevent sticking.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella, parmesan, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly over each noodle, then roll each noodle tightly.
- Place rolls seam-side down in the baking dish.
- Pour remaining marinara sauce over the rolls and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve.
Notes
- You can prepare the roll ups a day in advance and refrigerate before baking.
- Add cooked ground beef or sausage for a meat variation.
- Mix spinach into the ricotta for a lighter, veggie-packed version.
- Try alternative cheeses like cottage cheese or add pesto for extra flavor.
