Description

Elegant yet simple apple-filled puff pastry blossoms with warm cinnamon sweetness and a crisp golden finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 medium apples, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey or apricot jam
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the puff pastry into equal strips and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon.
  4. Arrange apple slices overlapping along each pastry strip and fold the bottom edge over the apples.
  5. Roll each strip into a spiral to form a blossom shape.
  6. Place on the baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and crisp.
  8. Brush with honey or apricot jam and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Gala or Honeycrisp for best texture.
  • Add vanilla extract or nutmeg for extra flavor.
  • Spread cream cheese or almond paste for richness.
  • Can substitute apples with pears for variation.
  • Reheat in oven to maintain crispness; avoid microwave.
