Description

This Million Dollar Lasagna is a luxurious twist on the classic dish, featuring layers of creamy cheese filling, savory meat sauce, and tender pasta. Perfect for family dinners, potlucks, or make-ahead meals.

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
  4. Add chopped onion and garlic; cook until fragrant.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, ricotta, sour cream, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  7. In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce, then layer noodles, cheese mixture, mozzarella, and more sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella and parmesan on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Letting the lasagna rest helps it set and prevents it from being watery.
  • You can use no-boil noodles—just ensure the sauce has enough moisture.
  • Make ahead and refrigerate before baking to save time on busy days.
  • Try variations like ground turkey, mushrooms, or spinach for different flavors.
