Description
A quick and hearty one-pan meal combining the flavors of a cheeseburger with pasta for a comforting family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow or rotini)
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Optional toppings: pickles, green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
- Stir in pasta, diced tomatoes (with juice), beef broth, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12–15 minutes or until pasta is cooked through.
- Remove lid and stir. Let excess liquid evaporate if needed.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and cover until melted.
- Serve hot, garnished with pickles, green onions, or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- Use whole wheat pasta for added fiber.
- For extra creaminess, stir in a splash of milk before adding the cheese.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
