Description

Quick and flavorful oven-roasted green beans with crisp edges and tender centers, made with simple pantry ingredients in about 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and trim the green beans, removing the tough ends.
  3. Spread the green beans evenly on a large baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the beans and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Toss the beans with your hands or a spoon until they are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.
  6. Arrange the green beans in a single layer on the baking sheet to ensure even roasting.
  7. Roast in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes.
  8. Halfway through cooking, gently stir the beans so they brown evenly.
  9. Remove from the oven when the beans are tender and slightly blistered.
  10. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice after roasting for extra brightness.
  • Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the beans during the last few minutes of roasting for a richer flavor.
  • Add sliced almonds or toasted breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  • Mix in a pinch of red pepper flakes for a mild spicy kick.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a skillet over medium heat or in a 375°F oven for 5–8 minutes to maintain texture.
  • If using frozen green beans, thaw and pat them dry before roasting to avoid excess moisture.
