Description
Quick and flavorful oven-roasted green beans with crisp edges and tender centers, made with simple pantry ingredients in about 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and trim the green beans, removing the tough ends.
- Spread the green beans evenly on a large baking sheet.
- Drizzle olive oil over the beans and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Toss the beans with your hands or a spoon until they are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.
- Arrange the green beans in a single layer on the baking sheet to ensure even roasting.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes.
- Halfway through cooking, gently stir the beans so they brown evenly.
- Remove from the oven when the beans are tender and slightly blistered.
- Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice after roasting for extra brightness.
- Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the beans during the last few minutes of roasting for a richer flavor.
- Add sliced almonds or toasted breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
- Mix in a pinch of red pepper flakes for a mild spicy kick.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a skillet over medium heat or in a 375°F oven for 5–8 minutes to maintain texture.
- If using frozen green beans, thaw and pat them dry before roasting to avoid excess moisture.
