Description

A simple and flavorful slow cooker dish featuring tender chicken in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, dried basil, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. If desired, remove chicken and stir in the cornstarch mixture into the sauce. Cook on high for 15–20 minutes to thicken.
  6. Return chicken to the sauce and serve over rice or vegetables.
