Ingredients
- 1 cup long grain white rice

- 2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin

Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add uncooked rice and toast, stirring frequently, until it turns light golden brown.
- Stir in chopped onions and garlic; cook until soft and fragrant.
- Pour in tomato sauce and broth, then season with salt, cumin, and chili powder.
- Bring to a gentle boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.
- Fluff rice with a fork and garnish with chopped cilantro or green onions if desired.

- Use vegetable broth to make the dish vegetarian.
- Add frozen peas, corn, or diced bell peppers for variation.
- Brown rice can be used with adjusted liquid and cook time.
