Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 4 cups cooked white rice
- 1 cup queso cheese sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes (optional)
- 1/4 cup diced green chilies or jalapeños (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Season the sliced steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak slices for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to desired doneness.
- In a separate saucepan or microwave, heat the queso cheese sauce until smooth and pourable.
- Reheat or freshly cook white rice and distribute among serving bowls or plates.
- Top each serving of rice with cooked steak slices.
- Drizzle hot queso sauce generously over the steak and rice.
- Optionally, garnish with diced tomatoes, chilies or jalapeños, and chopped fresh cilantro.
