Description

Ingredients

  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups chicken broth (or seafood broth)
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the orzo and toast for 2–3 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. Pour in the broth and season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the liquid is mostly absorbed, nestle the shrimp into the orzo.
  7. Cover and cook for 4–5 minutes until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  8. Add lemon juice and parsley, stir gently, and serve warm.
