Description
Savory and satisfying sticky garlic chicken noodles with tender chicken, rich garlic sauce, and perfectly cooked noodles — a quick weeknight favorite.
Ingredients
- 8 oz (225 g) noodles (egg noodles or rice noodles)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced (about 12 oz / 350 g)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Green onions, sliced for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, and chicken broth. Set sauce aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium‑high heat.
- Add the sliced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add onion and bell pepper, and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and pour in the sauce. Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Add the cooked noodles to the pan, tossing thoroughly to coat the noodles in sauce and heat through.
- Season with black pepper and adjust seasoning to taste.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or drizzle chili sauce.
- Vegetables like carrots, snow peas, or broccoli can be added for more color and nutrition.
- If you prefer a gluten‑free version, use gluten‑free noodles and tamari instead of soy sauce.
