Description
A delightful and fluffy dessert salad that combines the sweetness of strawberries with the creaminess of whipped topping, pineapple, marshmallows, and a hint of sour cream. Perfect for potlucks or as a refreshing summer side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 (3 oz) package strawberry gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 1 (16 oz) can crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in cold water and let cool to room temperature.
- Fold in the whipped topping until smooth. Add pineapple, marshmallows, strawberries, and sour cream. Stir gently to mix.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set. Serve chilled.
Notes
- Enhance with 1/2 cup chopped bananas or sliced almonds.
- Frozen strawberries can be substituted, thawed and drained.
