Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean preferred)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 23 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 4 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks until no longer pink.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Drain excess fat from the beef, then pour the sauce over it. Stir well to coat.
