Description

A quick, soft, and warm chocolate chip cookie made directly in a mug for an easy single-serving dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 drops vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter directly in a microwave-safe mug.
  2. Stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  3. Mix in the egg yolk until fully combined.
  4. Add the flour and stir gently until no dry streaks remain.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Microwave for 40 to 60 seconds, depending on microwave strength, until the top looks set.
  7. Let the cookie cool for 1 minute before enjoying warm.

Notes

  • Use a microwave-safe mug that holds at least 10 ounces to prevent overflowing.
  • Do not overcook, or the cookie may become rubbery.
  • Best enjoyed fresh and warm right after cooking.
  • Use white chocolate chips, dark chocolate chunks, walnuts, pecans, peanut butter, cinnamon, or vanilla ice cream for variations.
  • Leftovers can be covered and stored at room temperature for up to 1 day, then reheated for about 10 seconds.
