Description
A quick, soft, and warm chocolate chip cookie made directly in a mug for an easy single-serving dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 drops vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt the butter directly in a microwave-safe mug.
- Stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Mix in the egg yolk until fully combined.
- Add the flour and stir gently until no dry streaks remain.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Microwave for 40 to 60 seconds, depending on microwave strength, until the top looks set.
- Let the cookie cool for 1 minute before enjoying warm.
Notes
- Use a microwave-safe mug that holds at least 10 ounces to prevent overflowing.
- Do not overcook, or the cookie may become rubbery.
- Best enjoyed fresh and warm right after cooking.
- Use white chocolate chips, dark chocolate chunks, walnuts, pecans, peanut butter, cinnamon, or vanilla ice cream for variations.
- Leftovers can be covered and stored at room temperature for up to 1 day, then reheated for about 10 seconds.
