Description
Festive no-bake 4th of July Rice Krispies Treats made with marshmallows, butter, and patriotic red, white, and blue sprinkles for a colorful and chewy dessert perfect for celebrations.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles
- Red food coloring (a few drops, optional)
- Blue food coloring (a few drops, optional)
Instructions
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add mini marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.
- Stir in vanilla extract and salt until combined.
- If desired, divide mixture and add red and blue food coloring to create patriotic colors.
- Fold in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Mix in most of the sprinkles, reserving some for topping.
- Press mixture into the prepared baking dish using a greased spatula or wax paper.
- Top with remaining sprinkles and gently press them in.
- Let cool for about 30 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Do not overheat marshmallows to keep treats soft and chewy.
- Press mixture lightly into the pan to avoid hard treats.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Use parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking.
- Optional add-ins include white chocolate drizzle or candy-coated chocolates.
