Ingredients
- For the apple pie dip:
- 3 apples, peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- For the cinnamon sugar tortilla chips:
- 6 small flour tortillas
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Brush both sides of tortillas with melted butter.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over the tortillas.
- Cut tortillas into triangles and arrange on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden and crispy. Let cool slightly.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes until apples soften.
- Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry, then stir into the apple mixture.
- Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the dip thickens slightly.
- Serve warm with cinnamon sugar tortilla chips.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji for best texture.
- Allow tortilla chips to cool completely before storing to keep them crispy.
- Add caramel sauce for extra richness.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
