Description

A cozy apple pie dip made with warm cinnamon-spiced apples, served with crispy cinnamon sugar tortilla chips for a fun and comforting dessert.

Ingredients

  • For the apple pie dip:
  • 3 apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • For the cinnamon sugar tortilla chips:
  • 6 small flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Brush both sides of tortillas with melted butter.
  3. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over the tortillas.
  4. Cut tortillas into triangles and arrange on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden and crispy. Let cool slightly.
  6. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
  7. Cook for 5–7 minutes until apples soften.
  8. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry, then stir into the apple mixture.
  9. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the dip thickens slightly.
  10. Serve warm with cinnamon sugar tortilla chips.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji for best texture.
  • Allow tortilla chips to cool completely before storing to keep them crispy.
  • Add caramel sauce for extra richness.
  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
  • Can substitute butter with dairy-free alternatives if needed.
