Description

Juicy and flavorful grilled BBQ chicken coated in a rich, smoky marinade and finished with a sticky caramelized barbecue glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900 g) chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry and place it in a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix barbecue sauce, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken and coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight).
  4. Preheat the grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grates.
  5. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for 25–30 minutes, turning occasionally.
  6. During the last 10 minutes, brush additional barbecue sauce over the chicken to create a sticky glaze.
  7. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F) and the chicken has a nice char.
  8. Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
