Description

Soft, fluffy homemade naan brushed with rich garlic butter, delivering a restaurant-style bread that’s easy to make on a stovetop.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 24 tablespoons warm water (as needed)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  2. Add yogurt and olive oil, mixing until the dough begins to form.
  3. Gradually add warm water until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover and let the dough rest for 1 hour.
  6. Divide dough into small balls and roll into oval or circular shapes.
  7. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook each naan for 1–2 minutes per side until bubbles and golden spots appear.
  8. Mix melted butter with minced garlic and brush over warm naan.
  9. Sprinkle with chopped parsley or cilantro and serve.

  • Adjust water gradually to avoid sticky dough.
