Description

Soft and tender creamsicle orange cookies bursting with bright citrus flavor and sweet vanilla notes, reminiscent of the classic orange-and-vanilla treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange extract (optional)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, then add the orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, and optional orange extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in the white chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to keep cookies soft and tender.
  • Fresh orange juice provides the best flavor.
  • Optional orange extract enhances citrus intensity.
  • You can drizzle an orange glaze on top for extra sweetness.
  • Swap white chocolate chips with yogurt chips or omit for a lighter version.
