A creamy, comforting slow cooker chicken and gravy dish made with tender shredded chicken, rich gravy, and cream cheese for a smooth, savory finish. Perfect served over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits for an easy family meal.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 packets (0.87 ounce each) chicken gravy mix
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a bowl, whisk together gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until chicken is tender.
- Remove chicken and shred it using two forks.
- Stir softened cream cheese into the gravy until smooth and creamy.
- Return shredded chicken to the crockpot and mix well.
- Cook for an additional 15–20 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breasts for extra tenderness.
- Add mushrooms, peas, or carrots for more texture and flavor.
- Use full-fat cream cheese for a richer gravy.
- For thicker gravy, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water and stir in during the last 20 minutes.
- Best served over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or biscuits.
