Description

A creamy, comforting slow cooker chicken and gravy dish made with tender shredded chicken, rich gravy, and cream cheese for a smooth, savory finish. Perfect served over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits for an easy family meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 packets (0.87 ounce each) chicken gravy mix
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until chicken is tender.
  5. Remove chicken and shred it using two forks.
  6. Stir softened cream cheese into the gravy until smooth and creamy.
  7. Return shredded chicken to the crockpot and mix well.
  8. Cook for an additional 15–20 minutes until heated through.
  9. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breasts for extra tenderness.
  • Add mushrooms, peas, or carrots for more texture and flavor.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese for a richer gravy.
  • For thicker gravy, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water and stir in during the last 20 minutes.
  • Best served over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or biscuits.
