Ingredients
- 6 cups sliced peaches
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the sliced peaches into a large mixing bowl and stir them with 1/2 cup of the sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Slowly stir the milk and melted butter into the dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peaches without stirring.
- Bake the cobbler for 40 to 45 minutes until the top becomes golden brown and the peaches are bubbling around the edges.
- Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.
